Ocean Aquafarms assisting in developing a cooperative relationship between Stavanger and Yantai

Heidi Baugstø, Chairman of Ocean Aquafarms, together with Carol Shang, Business Development in Ocean Aquafarms, led a group of Stavanger politicians to visit Yantai, China in October 2017. Due to long term business relationships with CIMC Group through Ocean Aquafarms and related companies, Heidi Baugstø was asked to assist in developing a cooperative relationship between Stavanger and Yantai.

The delegation visited leading companies of different industries in Yantai, such as O&G, aquaculture, smart city, wine production, tourism etc. The visit gave both parties a very good understanding of the potential for cooperation, and laid great foundation for further bilateral dialogue.

A round-table meeting led by the Deputy Mayor of Yantai Mr. Zhang Dailing and senior Stavanger politicians John Petter Hernes and Dag Mossige took place. During the meeting, they exchanged information about the two cities and identified key areas of joint interest. The long-term strategic cooperation between CIMC and Ocean Aquafarms was highlighted and promoted as a good example for further cooperation between the two cities. At the end of the meeting, a Letter of Intent on establishing a friendly cooperative relationship between Stavanger and Yantai was signed. Ocean Aquafarms AS and CIMC Yantai Raffles also signed a cooperation agreement.

Ocean Aquafarms signed a 4-party agreement

On September 20th, Ocean Aquafarms signed a 4-party agreement with China International Marine Containers (CIMC), China Minsheng Bank and China National Fisheries Corp. to develop, finance and construct Hex Box. The 4-party agreement enables a business model that incorporates 3 elements. These are an experienced fabrication partner, a financing solution from a mixture of Chinese and Norwegian banks and one of the world’s largest distribution companies to handle the export of fish. Through the 4-party agreement, Ocean Aquafarms will mass produce cost effective solutions by industrializing the process for Norway, China and other countries worldwide.

The signing ceremony was held in the city hall of Stavanger, witnessed by senior members of Stavanger Council John Peter Hernes and Dag Mossige.

Ocean Aquafarms joined Aqua Nor in Trondheim

Ocean Aquafarms joined the world’s largest aquaculture technology exhibition Aqua Nor in Trondheim in August 2017. During the event, Ocean Aquafarms met with its long- term business partners and exchanged ideas with a various of leading companies in the industry.

Ocean Aquafarms signed a letter of intent with CIMC Raffles at the Norway China Business Summit 2017

Heidi Baugstø, Chairman of Ocean Aquafarms signed a letter of intent worth 2,1 billion kroner (250 million USD) with Mr. Wang Jianzhong, President of CIMC Raffles in Beijing on April 7th. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, together with more than 1000 Chinese and Norwegian business leaders was present.

Stavanger company made billion NOK agreement in China

The Stavanger based Company, Ocean Aquafarms AS, has signed a letter of intent with Chinese shipyard CIMC Raffles which is worth 2,1 billion kroner (250 million USD). The cooperation between Norway and China paves the way to start the construction of Hex Box, a newly developed Norwegian fish farm concept.

The letter of intent was signed by Heidi Baugstø, Chairman of Ocean Aquafarms, and Wang Jianzhong, CEO of CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited. in Beijing this morning. This was part of the ceremony where 14 leading Norwegian companies signed agreements with their Chinese partners. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, together with the rest of the Norwegian delegation who are visiting China this week was present.

Taking Norway – China cooperation to new levels

Ocean Aquafarms and CIMC Group focus on the international aquaculture market.

Ocean Aquafarms, the company behind the Norwegian aquaculture concept Hex Box, enters into strategic partnership with Chinese CIMC and opens up doors to the international market. Representatives from CIMC visited various academic communities and companies in Norway together with its Norwegian partner.
